Piping Materials Engineer
Piping Engineer – FPSO & Mooring Systems
As Piping Engineer you make sure the full piping scope on complex offshore projects is technically sound, safe and delivered on time. You translate project requirements into robust designs for FPSO topsides and mooring-related systems and keep a close eye on constructability and lifecycle performance.
You will:
-
Develop basic and detailed designs for process piping on FPSO and SPM systems
-
Prepare specifications for piping materials, valves and special items
-
Engage with vendors and review their technical documentation
-
Join HAZID and design reviews and support client / authority approvals
-
Review fabrication and construction drawings and answer site queries
-
Flag technical risks and report progress and issues to the Lead / Project Engineer and Section Head
You work independently within your discipline, but closely with process, naval, mechanical and structural colleagues to get to the best integrated solution.
Your Profile
You’re a clear communicator with a proactive attitude. You like diving into the details, but you don’t lose sight of planning, quality and HSEQ.
You bring:
-
Bachelor’s or Technical College degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
~5 years of experience in piping materials engineering
-
Solid knowledge of piping materials, valves, equipment and pipe stress, plus a good understanding of piping design/layout
-
Experience in the oil & gas sector (operator or engineering contractor)
-
Familiarity with international piping and offshore design codes and standards
-
Strong command of English, spoken and written
-
Hands-on experience in both basic and detailed design phases
Where will you be working?
You’ll join a Dutch-rooted offshore company with a global footprint, active in floating production (FPSOs) and advanced single point mooring systems. They combine decades of offshore experience with a strong focus on innovation and energy transition, including new floating solutions for renewables.
The culture is informal, international and very engineering-driven:
-
Short lines, quick decisions, high level of responsibility
-
Multidisciplinary teams where operations and engineering are closely connected
-
Plenty of room to grow: deepen your technical expertise or move towards lead / project roles
You’ll work from the Hoofddorp office in a team where knowledge-sharing, safety and teamwork are central – and where what you design actually gets built and operated.
What's in it for you?
You can expect a technically challenging role with direct impact on visible offshore assets, plus strong employment conditions, including:
